Director of Regional Language Center


The Director of Regional Language Center is responsible for, leading and managing all facets of the Center’s operations including finance, human resources and facilities, program development and quality, student support and experience, marketing and promotion of the Center’s work and engagement with the internal and external stakeholders.


Design and implement phased programmes to realize the following development objectives and in keeping with UB’s Transformational Plan 2017-2022, while maintaining the Center’s ongoing programmes 


  • Master’s degree in the teaching of English as a second or foreign language, or other relevant training/experience in the combined areas of language education and educational leadership/management/business, together with experience in training adult professionals in English to non-native English speakers and/or Spanish to non-native Spanish speakers.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, proactive, imaginative, people-oriented, cooperative and results-driven in working with people from different languages and cultures and in working with the Management of the University and its Staff, Students, Faculty and other stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial, with strong communication, marketing and recruitment skills.  Formal training and/or experience in this area will be a distinct asset.
  • Committed to excellence, and customer satisfaction and would be expected to develop, on an ongoing basis, plans for improving the operations of the Center and its product offerings consistent with market needs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase awareness of the Centre and its offerings.
  • Multi-culturalism within the Belizean, Central American and Caribbean community.
